Welcome to Empower Advisory

Our mission is to empower the public with real knowledge in property and stocks investment to gain financial wisdom and confidence.

Long disturbed by scams and greed seminars that turned out to mislead and let the public down, Douglas founded Empower Advisory and together with his partners decided to step up to make an impactful difference. You can read Douglas’ media coverage, contributions and message to you.

Preferring not to be bonded by a scholarship, Douglas graduated with a Real Estate Degree with Honours from the National University of Singapore in 2004 and started his career in the banking and corporate finance sector. He received an A+ for his final year thesis and was placed on the Dean’s list. In 2009, he obtained a Masters in Applied Finance from the University of Adelaide.

Besides being an Investment Educator and Life Coach, Douglas is also a Licensed Realtor, providing unparalleled real estate advice and service to the public and Empower Advisory Members.

Douglas started work in the Finance Industry, where he worked in various financial discipline including SME banking, IPO, mergers and acquisition, valuation and financial modelling. The companies he worked for were IFS Capital Limited, OCBC, Grant Thornton and PWC. Along the way, he obtained a Masters in Applied Finance from the University of Adelaide in 2009.

After a fulfilling stint in the finance industry where he achieved his financial goals, he decided to help businesses in a more impactful way by leading a team of dedicated public officers in the Ministry of Trade and Industry to champion better business rules and regulations in Singapore through the Pro-Enterprise Panel platform.

After 3 years as a public officer, Douglas bid the public service a fond farewell to answer an important calling to empower the public with real investment knowledge they can apply with confidence. He continues to contribute to the public service as an associate trainer with the Civil Service College.
